Shaun Burke Named Chairman-Elect of MBA; Will Cologna Joins Banking Leadership Missouri Class
Two Guaranty Bank employees were among the host of honorees at the 127th Annual Convention of the Missouri Bankers Association, held June 8 in Branson.
Shaun Burke, president and CEO of Guaranty Bank, was installed as the MBA’s chairman-elect during ceremonies held at Chateau on the Lake Resort and Convention Center. Burke has led Guaranty Bank since 2004 and has more than 30 years of banking experience. He has served on the MBA Board of Directors since 2012 and has chaired the MBA’s Legislative Affairs Committee and the Budget and Audit Committee.
“This is a great honor for Shaun as well as our team at Guaranty Bank,” said Jim Batten, chairman of the Guaranty Federal Bancshares, Inc. Board of Directors, the holding company for Guaranty Bank. “Shaun’s leadership exemplifies the bank’s culture and he will do an excellent job in this new role with the MBA.”
Will Cologna, Guaranty Bank Vice President of Product Solutions, was selected to participate in the MBA’s latest Banking Leadership Missouri class, which was also recognized at the convention. Banking Leadership Missouri is an 18-month leadership development program designed to actively enhance the leadership, organizational and performance skills of highly motivated mid- to upper-level bankers. The program establishes a network of future bank leaders who understand and can respond to local and national issues affecting the banking industry and their communities. This is the fifth Banking Leadership Missouri class.
“Will has repeatedly demonstrated his passion and commitment to the success of our company and the banking industry,” said Carlye Wannenmacher, Guaranty Bank Marketing Director. “His wealth of knowledge and his drive for innovation and efficiency makes him the perfect participant for this banking leadership program.”
